Ah, the shoes of the 90s!

A strange little girl grows up
Next year sees the 20th anniversary of the release of Little Earthquakes, the debut album that put Amos on the map. Our time together almost up, I remind Amos of another landmark, namely the 1994 Q magazine cover that saw her photographed alongside Björk and PJ Harvey under the caption “Hips. Lips. Tits. Power.”
“You know, Q got it absolutely right” Amos concludes, smiling at the memory. “I think of Björk and Polly as my creative compatriots – we were going strong then and we’re all still going strong now.”

Tori got mentioned as one of four who “owes the biggest debt to the goddess of kook-pop” Kate Bush, with a massive 30%. This “Infomania” series that The Guardian got going is quite fun! if you like what you see, click here for more Infomania ^^,
(I’m wondering if Tori and/or Björk will get one, now that their albums are both due in 2 months. Either way lovely to see Kate getting some fun attention, thrilling! :)

The October, 2006, issue of Q magazine includes an additional mag titled 20 years of classic music photography, Q Idols.
Included is John Stoddart’s 1994 cover photo of PJ Harvey, Björk, and Tori. Looking back, Stoddart had this to say about the experience:
“Bjork, PJ Harvey and Tori Amos represented a new wave of female rock. They hadn’t met each other before this shoot. I thought it was going to be a real number having these three egos in one studio, but they couldn’t have been nicer to each other. There was no prima donna behaviour, and they all swapped numbers afterwards. My only regret is that Bjork had the worst hairdo of her career at the time. Look at it – it’s horrible.”
I think they all are incredibly cute!
